Nazarbayev University Student Investment Fund
The Nazarbayev University Student Investment Fund, established in 2022 by Adil Sultangazy, is Kazakhstan's first student-led organization inspired by Western-style Student Managed Investment Funds. The fund currently manages a demo and real portfolios, focusing primarily on equities, with an emphasis on American stocks, and provides a platform for students to gain hands-on experience in investment management through stock pitches and collaborative decision-making. In addition to portfolio management, the fund hosts events featuring industry professionals who deliver guest lectures and workshops, offering students invaluable insights into the real-world dynamics of finance. Open to all university students, the fund recruits new members at the start of each semester.
Mission
Our mission is to foster a collaborative environment where students can develop the skills and knowledge necessary to excel in the investment field. By inviting industry professionals, we aim to provide valuable networking opportunities and potential internship placements, thereby enhancing students' career prospects. At the same time, we strive to apply these skills in managing a portfolio with a focus on maximizing returns.
Executive Board
The Executive Board oversees the internal operations of the fund. It organizes meetings, handles member recruitment and provides strategic direction to support the fund's mission and activities.
Portfolio Management Team
The Portfolio Management Team is responsible for monitoring the fund's portfolio and making key investment decisions. They evaluate market trends, review stock pitches and ensure the portfolio aligns with the fund's investment strategy.
Analysts
Analysts are the foundation of the fund, tasked with researching companies, preparing stock pitches and proposing new investment ideas. Every member begins their journey in the fund as an Analyst, gaining essential skills and experience in investment analysis.
